He had the chance to level out and gain some airspeed and altitude, but nooooo. He had to bank it again. One too many banks. Nose dipped below the horizon. Bad result. RIP.

9/11 was outside job. As for you, Get a job.... You conspiracy fanatic. Bush is not president anymore. You have a new master now. I say, If it was inside job, Obama probably had something to do with it. How do you like that.

Fuck it. That plane was probable gonna be used to murder in Iraq or Afghanistan anyways. Serves it right.
A plane can stall ...   (AndyJay15)13.11.2009
A plane can stall at ANY speed. A stall isn't created by airspeed, it's created by not enough lift being created by the wings. This is pilot error. Low airspeed? Too much bank? It's the only plane I know of that can make a 90degree turn?

Hmm, not quite the same. A plane's wings produce lift; a car produces none. Yes, 5 knots does mean life or death, but because of the stall speed, not because of distance. The plane was not traveling at the airspeed needed to produce enough lift in that steep of a bank. End result? Video says all.

5 knots under in a bank like that means life or death!... apparently. Think about it. If a car jumps off a ramp and another car jumps off at 5 MPH under, the faster car gets at least another 15 feet of distance.

That pilot was nuts ...   (Mandrak789)8.11.2009
That pilot was nuts, he had a history of suicidal manoeuvres on B52. He should've been grounded long before this happened.

god gave this pilot his warning at 0:32. i could not believe i watched the second attempt, fatal.

the b52 is capable of these kinds of maneuvers, but you can visibly tell that airspeed is wayyy to low to complete it. I would say at least 5 knots under.

The b-52 can pull those banks but not that low thats just stupid. To low way to low on turn pilot error sorry

Saying an aircraft doesn't lose lift as bank angle increases demonstrates that.

Not true, I think ...   (Sarendil)7.11.2009
Not true, I think the original report was suicide. The pilot was unstable as far as I recall. This has little to do with loss of lift, as a plane doesn't just "lose" lift in a steep bank, the wings still create lift through forward motion.

once the pilot pulled into such a hard banking turn there was no lift and down it went. That was power lines Arching not flares.
