Tell me about some of your early shows in Hollywood. I believe you played the Whisky for the Urgh! A Music War (1981) compilation and video launch? Yeah, check it out. Were not on [the soundtrack], but were in the video and we have credit. Oh, they were so mad at us. We werent included on the album. They hated us. We played with X, the Go-Gos, Oingo Boingo. I remember X sitting in our dressing room. They were wasted.

I was pretty tired when I wrote that. That would explain the bilious tone. I'm sorry I lashed out, but the simplification of a genre that I really enjoy to "three power chords" irritates me. Also, saying there's no such thing as "punk rock" is the same as saying that there's no such thing as top hats. Sure, it makes for a novel, bold sentence, but until you can prove that top hats or punk rock are just mass hallucination​s, then I'm not going to be able to accept it as a valid point.
