This is from her first album 1985/86. I had the pleasure of seeing Ms. Houston at the then Boston Music Hall, where she looked and sang flawlessly. She brought the house down, as she had done many, many times since. Bet most of you could not say that in many lifetimes? She hit a few "bumps" along the way, but she will smooth those out. Our voices change several times in our lifetime, so hers will regain a strength & sound all her own. Let's be compassionate, after all she's only human!

That's exactly right. I think one of the hardest things for fans to learn is that their idols are people just like us with faults, and I also find it interesting that the people who give people like Whitney everything they've ever dreamed of are the same people that will end up ripping it out from under them. And although I would never ever do drugs myself, you only have to try it once and most people never escape it after it touches them that one time. I feel sorry for Whitney.
