Pacifism my ass, you're talking about taking techniques designed to kill people, apply poisons and skills in manipulation,​ deception and evasion (the basis of ninjitsu) in order to kill an animal with a slingshot, which depending on the materials used, could be less powerful than a recurve bow, most likely resulting in a prolonged death for the game. I thought pacifests were anti-sadists who believed in never fighting.

Chloroform is inhalation. There is no poison that I know of or have ever been able to find that could knock out or kill an animal fast enough to be effective, other than the weapons used by animal protection agencies which they use to incapacitate large or dangerous game so they may tag or observe them. So basically the only effective thing (a large syringe shot from a rifle) is already in use.
