Wow, I'm impressed - I thought emo-punk, pop-punk and such bands to be completely ignorant towards music of 60's and 70's and I was wrong. Really nice cover, original being better, though :)

i was once embarassed to admit that i like the new panic at the disco (nine in the afternoon, that green gentleman,etc​.) because of how bad their old stuff is, but i really like the fact that they're playing more folky roots type of stuff, and i think this was a good song for them to cover based on the direction they're heading. it annoys me that no one there knew the song, or cheered when he announced it. but that's probably because they're all 14.

This is a passable cover. I think he's trying too hard, especially when he goes high. Levon Helm's voice made the original. They shouldn't try to top him.

my personal opinion: it sounds like they were trying to break their pop punk image by broadening their horizons&fanb​ase, &doing something classic. &thats fine if you try&add an interesting unique spin to it, but all that was added was a whiny voice. i feel like there really wasnt any feeling&it was a completely arbitrary cover. it sounded like they took the song&just put it through a panic at the disco song machine generator&it sounds very unorginal&gen​eric. like most pop punk covers.

i feel like this is panic at the disco's weak attempt to gain respect among fans of actual legitimate music. clearly im going to get thumbed down by all the 14 year old girls watching this video..or those just wearing pants made for 14 year old girls.. but thats my opinion. and please don't tell me not to watch it or comment if i don't like it. because then what would be the point of being able to comment if you can't even express different opinions.
