Well since it follows Help!, critics saw it as heavily influenced by The Birds and Bob Dylan. Both McCartney and Lennon thought Dylan was great. John especially liked Dylan and tried writing like him.

I agree that Rubber Soul and Revolver are "entirely different albums". Don't know that it "draws mostly upon Dylan's influence" however. Fwiw I do prefer Rubber Soul to Revolver.

Way off man. Rubber Soul draws mostly upon Dylan's influence upon the group. Revolver is more diverse and experimental.​ They are entirely different albums. I do agree Pepper's is totally different also, but RS and Revolver aren't anything alike.

If I needed Someone and Think For Yourself was Harrison's breakthrough imo. But like mentioned already. Revolver was a good progression of Rubber Soul. And I prefer Sgt Pepper, Revolver, and Rubber Soul over Pet Sounds. Brian Wilson was asking too much trying to compete with the Beatles who I think are the greatest band ever. But this is my favorite Beach Boys cd.
