| It's definitly a big difference, I just think it's a shame that you should note that. Let's say an generic pop artist doesn't write his own lyrics, melody or whatever else. He/she buys song and than almost passes them off as if they are his/her own. In my eyes that doesn't make them real artists but complete and utter tools. So that's kinda why I think its a shame artists should note that they are infact artists. | |

| i think its def important to note that you write your own songs. i wouldn't call it a genre, but its a way to define yourself as a musician. do you just sing what other people write for you? or do you write, compose, and perform? big difference in my eyes. | |

I did scores of coffeehouse gigs -- oftentimes I was just a human juke box, or worse, an irritation to the folks who were just there to study or hook up!
