Snow and Jon Lajoie Live Show - Dec 5 2008

A few people have asked for me to do a vlog, I love snow and decided to start talking about the Jon Lajoie show and my love for the white fluffy stuff that falls from the clouds when it is cold. It is a windy day and the low light make for disturbed sound and grainy video, but these are the conditions I chose to film in. Update: We were expecting 1 to 3 inches, it looks like only an inch fell, It would be cool to have seen 3 but I'm happy. 11 degrees was the coldest I've seen when checking the weather so far this winter, which is relatively warm for MN at this time of the year, we have been averaging about 30 degrees the past few weeks. Jon Lajoie had his live performance yesterday night December 4th It was amazing but the capacity of the venue (~300 people) was far too small for the event. When I went through admissions there were only three people who got in after me if they didn't order tickets in advance. He is a comedy performer on Youtube, using both music and stand up comedy in his shows. FYI, I am mispronouncing his last name, it is supposed to be pronounced more like (Luh-jwa), I had his name incorrectly ingrained in my head since I never heard anyone say it correctly until I was at his live event. http://www.youtube.com/jonlajoie Note to self: Stop looking up at the snow and blinding yourself with the giant parking lot light. FYI to the people waiting for gathering videos - I scrapped my old project with its nearly complete edit of 888 in order to use better software for editing it in 16:9 without losing quality. There was a fair amount of quality loss in the 678 gathering footage because of the software I was using at the time and that same software wouldn't crop videos. Final note: I'm not against Macs, I'm stating the irony that I see in its attempt of having a user friendly image because it seems that the biggest challenges of getting widescreen working are coming from people using the two most popular Mac video editors: iMovie and Final Cut, while everyone using Sony Vegas and other common and cheap PC application do it easily with no issues like stretching or letterboxing. I use a PC, it's a matter of preference because I prefer ability to find an application to do pretty much anything I want easily without searching forever in order to find there isn't an application that does what I want, all after paying twice as much for the nearly the same hardware.

He will be in New York today and tomorrow, back in Ontario the middle of August, then Edmonton and Calgary, then to Vancouver, BC at the end of the month. I think that might be the end of his tour because that is as far as the calendar goes.

We had rain, but it didn't freeze so melted most of the snow that was left and many people had back yards resembling swimming pools. The slushy snow that we had on the roads froze so we have slick spots here and there but mostly in the residential areas that never got plowed well, which includes mine. With a few days with temperature above freezing we will have completely clear roads everywhere.

Temperature and snow are different things. I'd much rather have it snow when it's that cold than have rain at 34 degrees. That would suck. We had an awesome day on the 31st with 42 degree weather.

If you added the letterbox to the video then it would be here too, but if had a wide resolution then you should be fine. You would have to reupload though, which means you would either have duplicate videos, or you would have to delete your old videos with all of the old comments, views, and ratings. I personally could reupload but I feel it would be a disservice to those who want their comments to stay.
