They're doing this for users on such browsers as IE6. They really don't give a shit what browser you use so long as it is a modern one that can support what they want to do. They don't want to waste time coding for archaic browsers and holding back innovations. IE8, Chrome, Firefox 3.5, Opera, Safari 4, it makes no difference to them. They just want more people to upgrade to a modern browser.

The only reason youtube won't work from IE8 is if you've got the 64bit version. Since there's not 64bit version of flash afaik, flash sites won't work unless you've got the 32bit version. At least that's what I've found. Aside from that, it's actually alright.

downloaded IE 8 yesterday..ca​n't really see why people are complaining, its fine for me..nothing wrong with it, just looks a bit finer than 7 but as far as i can see not much have been done..(i know im wrong but i havent seen much difference..)​ i had some trouble in the start, spent 50 mins on it, maybe thats why people are complaining, cuz they have the same probs asi had..but it works fine now..

IE8 is pathetic. It's slow, sites don't load fully, even my wireless signal has weakened because of it. It suck.
