@themacbox If you would like a safe, simple browser, why don't you download a text-only browser like Lynx? It's certainly fast (no pictures to download), safe (just text!), and simple (unless you can't read). IE 8 actually is the safest browser according to a NSS Study.

They're doing this for users on such browsers as IE6. They really don't give a shit what browser you use so long as it is a modern one that can support what they want to do. They don't want to waste time coding for archaic browsers and holding back innovations. IE8, Chrome, Firefox 3.5, Opera, Safari 4, it makes no difference to them. They just want more people to upgrade to a modern browser.
