I really understand you, girl...some churches and priests awaken feelings of guilt and use it to manipulate people's minds..I have experienced the same in some congregations, and on certain youth events...Howe​ver, there are some who don't...and I don't think God would instill sin-paranoia in his children's brains...that​ is a false idea of what he is...May he restore your feelings and your heart, and the gift of faith that I am sure is still there inside of you!

You cannot possibly grow up in a family without being indoctrinated. If you grow up in a Christian home, your gunna be taught how to be a Christian. If your brought up in a atheist home, your gunna learn how to believe like an atheist does.

Same with me. I never liked it, but I think I realized I was an atheist when I was about seven, and this priest had given me a packet (a big packet) of Christian homework all about biblical history. He told me to have it ready by the next Scout meeting (yes, my father had convinced me to go and stay in Boy Scouts even though I didn't want to). In the end, I guess I never liked religion, and it was partly because my parents pushed it onto me that I started to dislike it more and more.

You are just so gullible Saudara. And if the pastor read the papers, it wouldn't be to preach on overcoming struggles, but to manipulate. If you are too naive to see the emotional blackmail (manipulation) of original sin which we are allegedly both vicariously saddled with and redeemed from by believing (as if belief were a conscious choice) then you will not very likely appreciate to magnitude of the manipulation nor how convenient this exercise is for producing demographic data.
