Queen - Delilah

A very specific song of "Innuendo", the last album of Queen released before Freddie Mercury's death. Delilah was the name of Mercury's beloved cat. The song features Queen members... meowing! When Roger Taylor had first heard about the idea of the song, he hated it, but considering Freddie's deteriorating health and the fact that it might have been one of his last wishes - he agreed to do the song. I wonder what happened to Delilah, is she still alive? What happened to her after Freddie passed away? Did she miss her owner as much as thousands of people do...? During the first part of the song you can see the picture of Delilah herself. I don't know what it's wrong with you guys, I fucking love this song, it has a childish and bizzare rithm, just to mimic the funny walk of a cat and the funny things that cats do in houses.From this song I can imagine real Delilah going around freddie's house and making a mess everywhere.You can understand only if you have pets. plus it is very sad at the same time, cause delilah was one of the ultimate companies of poor sick freddie, It is bizzare and sad at the same time so freddie= genius

Their seventies releases, for the most part, are brilliant. Their eighties releases were a bit hit or miss; some were fantastic (Radio Ga Ga, Who Wants To Live Forever, I Want It All, as examples), while some were mediocre (Rain Must Fall, My Baby Does Me, Don't Try Suicide). I quite like "Delilah", as it's reminiscent of some of their more quirky songs from their earlier albums ("Bring Back That Leroy Brown" and "Seaside Rendezvous" come to mind.)

Thanks for sharing that story - I'm a life long Queen fan and didn't even know that one. However, I don't agree with those who say this is one of their worst songs. It's brilliant.. and for comparison, just check out some of their old material (from the 70's).. it get's FAR worse than this :)
