These are pretty easy when theres only one of them, just use stasis, then use the plasma cutter to gut the limbs before they go back inside or have the chance to launch the pods. Theres only like 6 limbs. Its where there are two of them around the corner in the future that they are a pain.

I wasted so much ammo on this thing when I saw it for the first time. It killed me after my ammo ran dry, but then I killed it very quickly in round-two; this enemy is all about timing. I like to hit it with a bomb when it first wakes up, because all of its limbs are on the outside at that time; this results in a 1-hit kill. :-)

I call the gaurdian a one shot momma even on hard its a one shot kill with this monster.....w​hen you come into its view the tenticles shoot out......stas​is the monster as the tenticles are coming out in an arrow like fashion...walk next to him and shoot all the tenticle off with one plasma cutter shot set to top to bottom shot

That thing is called Guardian, actually it's really easy to take it out if you know the trick. Blow it up with explosive object or just cut out all of tenticles while you put it on stasis. Easiest creature in the game that I think...
