It was released back in late '94 - early '95 there about awhile after mack album dropped. So it's a hard 1 to call really because Dilla really was now getting his feet legit wise in the game around then. I actually saw an interview where he admitted to giving Tip beats to shop around for him but tip ended up getting the credit for it as he was already in the game,but Dilla being who he was let it slide cause Tip was still his peoples. And yes shaheed also did major work on the earlier stuff

people need to hear the dutch radio interview with dilla where he talks about q tip jackin his shit with the ummah mess. its standard that genius don't get no props vis a vis the got till its gone greatest theft ever known or 2pacs jawn. listen to the interview and get it from the timeless ones lips.
