You have a lot of interesting ideas and I think you're probably correct, but you need to support your claims with examples and evidence. Quoting someone else's opinion does not could as evidence. Do​ the trends that pervade through all of society really tend to be obscure? I can think of a lot of non-obscure trends that pervade society. How​ do you know that wanting things you don't need is anti-social? Specific examples? Do​es TV really reduce creativity? How do you know? etc etc...
