Q10 @14:57 First decent Q. I don't think Hitch is harsh enough. If we didn't have religion, and some asshole claimed to be in touch with the creator of the universe and came up with any of the scriptures the very last thing we'd do is take them seriously. Q12 @16:43 Probably the only long term positive impact resulting from the Bush administration. Q13 @18:25 First good Q. Loved his answer too. Q14 @20:52 c11 should be "god is imaginary, btw", c12 "study the creation, not the creator."
Q5 @6:39 Back to ...   (ananiasacts)12.3.2010
Q5 @6:39 Back to asking him if he's lying again. Q6 @9:09 Same Q again. He's completely missed Hitch's point reiterated @10:12 This guy is just dense. Q7 @10:55 Great answer. We couldn't have reached the point of inventing religion if we didn't already know that murder, theft, and lying were immoral. Q8 @12:52 We have a word for people who's integrity is for sale: scum. Q9 @13:46 Terrorists orgs, like Hamas, do charity work too, does that mean we should respect them as well? What an inane Q.
Q1 @1:20 seems ...   (ananiasacts)12.3.2010
Q1 @1:20 seems awfully stupid to me. If the only people who could discuss a theory had to also endorse it how could we ever be confident in our objectivity? Q2 @2:26 Ditto. He's an anti-theist. Isn't it the same as asking him if he's lying? Q3 @3:21 Q1 again. He obviously wants to say 'how dare you insult my faith given you're obviously incapable of having any yourself.' Q4 @4:51 I get the feeling the interviewer wants to ensure god knows just how much Hitchens needs to be punished.
What I don't think ...   (ananiasacts)12.3.2010
What I don't think Hitchens understands is that a media with integrity couldn't be profitable. For some reason, people are willing to pay someone more to blow smoke up their ass than to tell them they're being stupid.

@ads998, Imagine what cesspool of arrogant ignorance heaven must be. Nothing but a lot of cowardly yes-men.

Come again? I got your email but I think you were intending to respond to another one of the above writers.
@TheEternalUniverse ...   (LEV1ATHYN)8.3.2010
@TheEternalUniverse Wrong. It's the flag of Kurdistan. The Kurds are the world's largest ethnic minority group not to have their own nation state.
its not india, its ...   (TheEternalUniverse)8.3.2010
its not india, its an iranian flag, not sure why but he was supporting something that was going on in iran at the time.

Meanwhile, the rest of us can't wait for you ignorant pricks to get raptured out so we can finally have social and political progress!
I'm drinking my way ...   (ads998)8.3.2010
I'm drinking my way toward that goal myself! A man of great ideas and dreadful habits!
I would have ...   (ads998)8.3.2010
I would have thought the burden of proof lies with you? Asking for evidence of the non-existence of something seems rather odd. Perhaps you could stump up some evidence of god's existence? Having said that, I have to say 'god's' fundamental lack of any communication, appearances or engagement with any national or international authorities to date doesn't bode well for his existence?
What a pile of ...   (ads998)8.3.2010
What a pile of third rate self help nonesense! The type of crap used by marketeers to sell rubbish to idiots..."and to reach a higher understanding, I encourage you to invest in the residential property market".
My question to you ...   (ads998)8.3.2010
My question to you is this: Who would Jesus vanahumpalot?
What an absurd ...   (ads998)8.3.2010
What an absurd notion! Neither Ancient Greece or Rome were subscribers to these 'mystical' commandments, and I'd argue with some clarity they weren't in permanent and irreconcilable states of anarchy!
Not to mention the ...   (ads998)8.3.2010
Not to mention the property market crash of 2008-2009 that has bankrupted countless more! No potatoes AND negative equity.
Wow...I got thumbed ...   (Sachaztan)7.3.2010
Wow...I got thumbed down for that. I wonder why the one that did that didn't just respond with a comment explaining how it really is, clear up my confusion...
@Sachaztan : I've ...   (MegaLotusEater)7.3.2010
@Sachaztan : I've always found that strange too. Christians stick to the 10 commandments, yet they reject e.g the OT sanctions to the 10 commandments, like executing people who work on the Sabbath, or that generations of children will be cursed if you disobey the first three rules etc. I guess they say that Jesus repealed the entire Law save for the bare bones of the Ten. It's all a bit silly really. Actually, it's more sinister than just 'silly'.
any idea why ...   (tejas947)7.3.2010
any idea why hitchens is wearing an indian flag pin on his jacket?
Here's one thing I ...   (Sachaztan)6.3.2010
Here's one thing I don't get with Christians... They place all this emphasis on the 10 commandments, and those are in the old testament. This is the same place where the most absurd, bizarre and downright wicked stories, commandments and rules are in the bible. And to top that off, most Christians say that it's the new testament that matters, not the old. That the new testament REPLACED the old!
Jian completeley ...   (athar077)6.3.2010
Jian completeley out of his league .....any monkey can read questions on paper , how the hell these guys get these shows , i'll never know ...maybe it has something to do with multiple rings, or norm stromolopulos 's case nose ring tongue ring ear rings.....idiot had prof chomski on his show
If you've accepted ...   (rkyeun)5.3.2010
If you've accepted a position without such proof, then it is you who have been insincere, despite your flowery prose. You would be in that case the one I mentioned earlier acting as if you know without being able to understand.
If your purpose is ...   (rkyeun)5.3.2010
If your purpose is to convince others, you will in fact need to prove yourself. It would be only with the greatest insincerity and foolishness that we would believe you before you did this. If you have no need to convince others, there was no reason for you to speak of it in the first place, and no reason for you to assert these propositions.
We don't need a ...   (rkyeun)5.3.2010
We don't need a personal experience. Most of us have not looked through a transmission electron microscope to directly observe the atomic structure of molecules. And yet, we can understand physics and atoms and molecules because when someone with that understanding demonstrates it to us, they can impart it. And we don't have to merely believe them, we can test it ourselves if we doubt.
