Brett Favre Traded To The Jets

http://www.clmnews.com/ In breaking news, The Green Bay Packers have traded Brett Favre to the NY Jets. The Packers Traded their long time QB to N.Y. ending a month long standoff that saw both sides waging a bitter PR battle. The Packers will send a conditional draft pick to Green Bay for the 38 YO hall of fame bound QB. The trade comes just hours after Favre left Green Bay for his home in MS. Favre had flown to Green Bay and was even set to begin practicing at Packers Camp. However after a series of meetings with Packers Brass that seemed to turn into an airing out session, Green Bay reiterated their stance that they were prepared to move on with Aaron Rogers. Packers coach Mike McCarthy stated in an evening press conference on Tuesday that Brett Favre was not in the proper state of mind to lead the Packers forward. That cleared the way for a deal to get done either with the Jets or the Tampa Bay Bucs. Despite some initial resistance from Favre about playing in NY he was ultimately convinced after a private conversation with his wife. In return for their legendary QB the packers will receive a conditional 4th round pick that will turn into a 3rd round pick if Favre plays more than 50% of the team's snaps in 08. That 3rd round pick will be upgraded further to a 1st round pick if Favre can take the Jets to the Super bowl in 08. For more on this story visit http://www.clmnews.com/ and click on sports. are you retarded? there are quarterbacks in the NFL that couldn't get near farve's records if they played twice as long as he did. 9 pro bowls, 3- time mvp, most passing yards EVER, most touchdown passes EVER, most wins by a quarterback EVER. also, you put off this vibe that his longevity isnt something to marvel at. 257 CONSECUTIVE starts as a quarterback as of the end of last season. FARVE IS A MACHINE. there will never be another player like him

Even Roger Goodell had to get involved. The fans deserve football and if a star player wants to comeback(see Micheal Jordan) to a team and fans that cherish him, and if he can still perform then he should be able to. Without the soap opera from a club that's trying to protect his legacy. (more like protect their own ass if he were to go to any other team in the division)

chubbyparrot..I'm not a Favre kisser okay? Second, screw fables here...this is real life. I'm a Packer fan and I also got tired of the see-saw ride with him "retiring". However, the organization should have just RELEASED him if they wanted to move forward. I strongly suspect they didn't want him possibly lighting them up in the regular season. The motto that's always thrown around is "it's just business". The refusal to release Favre then tell him to compete for the starter spot is bad business.

People forget, except for last year, he had something like a 70-80 passer rating. The Packers are better off, they have some new draft picks comeing next year. Aaron Rodgers, and a would have been first round pick Brian Brohm will make decent QB's.
How can you blame a ...   (chubbyparrot)8.8.2008
How can you blame a team when a legend says he's retiring and they set up a celebration to retire his jersey and his legacy...then all of a sudden Favre says, "Hey, I think I wanna play afterall" What the hell do you moron favre-kissers expect? Ever hear of a little fable called "The Boy Who Cried Wolf?" You should go look it up to give you an idea of what the Packers have had to deal with for the past few years with this idiot.
It would be cool if ...   (Mychaels)8.8.2008
It would be cool if we made the playoffs. Our team is still great. We don't need a baby here. Insubordinate little jerk who has his wife negotiating which team he plays for. First play break his leg. 12 million dollars sitting on the bench with the kicker.

he should ended up in tampa he could kick the packers ass when they play tampa in october and beat dallas in dallas since he never done it before in his career but now he with the jets he cant do any of those.
"sarcastic ass" Ha ...   (DPKFOUR7)8.8.2008
"sarcastic ass" Ha ha! Ive been called many things, but not a "sarcastic ass". Relax ok, its not life or death at stake here. In my opinion, he put himself before the team. He was an enormous distraction to the Packers organization. That locker room would have split in half if he wasnt traded. Hes a dumbass because hes going to most likely win less games had he not retired in the first place.
