antituga - what does people's love of football have to do with it? My father was an amateur footballer (played as a striker) but he also loved racing. He bought an 1985Audi 4000S because of Audi's success in rallying and at Pike's Peak in America. The dealer put a sticker on his car: "Audi: The Double World Champion". He drove that car to his matches. Football was my first sport - and rallying made me fall in love with racing. One has nothing to do with the other.

audi were legend! purely thro two drivers, hannau mikkola and michele mouton!! i was there and watched them drive as a kid. anyone remember tony pond in the 6r4?? no!! i'll never forget mikkola driving a mazda 323 on his swan song leading the rac on the last day only to be defeated by a bright sunrise on a crest? anyone else? nah didnt think so
