Como h dicho en el anterior comentario la obra quedó lejos de ser terminada por Mozart. Su viuda, que necesitaba cobrar la mitad de la tarifa restante para mantener a su familia, le pidió a Franz Xaver Süssmayr (1766 - 1803) que la terminara. No fue por tanto - como sucede en la película "Amadeus", de Milos Forman - Antonio Salieri (1750 - 1825) quien completó la obra sino el mencionado Süssmayr.

Efectivamente, como bien dice Miricene, el "mensajero gris" que le encargó a Mozart su útima obra era un emisario del conde de Walsegg-Stupp​ach, que quería un réquiem en memoria de su difunta mujer y deseaba mantenerse en el anonimato para poder fingir que la ob era suya. Mozart la empezó con entusiasmo, pero su salud empezó a decaer y se obsesionó con la idea de que lo estaba escribiendo para su propia muerte. La muerte le sobrevino cuando la obra estaba lejos de ser terminada.

No fue ningún caballero misterioso, sino el conde Walsegg, quien visitó a Mozart para encargarle el Requiem. Walsegg intentó atribuirse la obra a sí mismo, pero Mozart había encargado acabarlo a Eybler (éste fue quien realmente le visitó en su lecho de muerte, no Salieri), quien descubrió el pastel. Eybler, comprometido en otro trabajo, transmitió las indicaciones de Mozart a Sussmaier, quien las trasladó a la partitura... y así quedó el Requiem.

Well, actually. You are correct the movie is definitely historically in accurate. However, this movie wasn't meant to be historically accurate. It was based off of a play written in the 19th century, I believe. And the play didn't have the intention of being accurate, it was geared more towards the mystery surrounding Mozart's death.

No, most of the movie is historically incorrect. Antonio Salieri was, in real, quite a promotor for the young and promising Mozart. As Kapellmeister​ at the Imperial Court in Vienna, Salieri had an enormous influence. T​he movie also depicts Salieri in a mental hospital. In reality he was a rich man and had two personal nurses and a personal doctor to take care of him. Typical​ Hollywood: everything swept aside for the drama. No matter if persons are done justice or not.

Según Gerardo KLEINBURG las infidelidades​ históricas del musical y la película AMADEUS escandalizan a los mozartianos, pero no hay duda que un caballero desconocido y misterioso hizo el trato con MOZART -1756/1791- para el "Réquiem" que dejó a medias y concluyeron su viuda Constanza, Süsmeyr, etc). SALIERI ya senil contaba que él lo envenenó y la intriga viene desde que el cadáver del joven MOZART fue a la fosa común ¡cuando era toda una celebridad (revista Pauta de 1991)!

"I don't understand!".​Haha probably the best line in the movie. It wants to ilustrate that Salieri wasn't even close to Mozarts genius. Salieri was good but nobody could have been good enough to understand Mozarts ideas. Hope i made it clearer for you even if it doesnt look like this to me.
