Bach-STOKOWSKI Toccata and Fugue in D minor
J.S.Bach transcripted by Leopold Stokowski Toccata and Fugue in D minor BWV565. Conducted by Wolfgang Sawallisch(1923-) the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Minato-Mirai Hall, Yokohama, Japan, in May, 1999. Leopold Stokowski(1882-1977) was conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 1912 to 1940, and this transciption was make in 1920s. Before WW2, its record which is Leopold Stokowski and the Philadelphia Orchestra was big hit record all of the world. In movie "FANTASIA", Toccata and Fugue is the first music which is played by Leopold Stokowski conducting and the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1940. Stokowski recoded in 1927 and 1934 with the Philadelphia Orchestra for Victor. This music is arranged by many arrangers. But I think Stokowski's version is still 1best one.

| they're just displaying 10 seconds, are you serious? 'cause your comment is ridiculous | |
| lorddenning1 | 6.1.2009 |
| I'm serious. Why are there Japs words here? This is classical music for god sake. | |
| renjida19 | 6.1.2009 |
| maybe you can ask yourself if the person who recorded the video did it in Japan... actually it seems the case (see the poster's profile), the text is displaying during 10 seconds on a 10 min video and you dare complaining? the text would be in english, would you complain? usually when some music-video is broadcast at TV they always put the name of it... | |
| lorddenning1 | 6.1.2009 |
| In my opinion, it should be recorded in English. Japs should not have a place in classical music. It is not their stuff, not their cultural. | |
| lorddenning1 | 6.1.2009 |
| typo....not cultural, should be culture...sorry. | |
| renjida19 | 6.1.2009 |
| That's a narrow-minded way of talking... Because it's not their culture, they don't have the right to listen to it? recorded in english? you're doing us an angst just for 3 lines? of all ridiculous things I've ever seen, you must be on the top. | |
